Critically acclaimed music producer and film composer Dave Wirth has been releasing music on the Fire, Fire, Red Star Down record label since 2005. A masters degree holder from the Eastman School of Music, and an unapologetic nerd about music, his energy for following new and inspired ideas is boundless.

Dave's first record titled "I & II" (2005) was an experimentation with slowcore indie-rock songs with melodically layered feedback. It wasn't until 2016 that Dave got into the studio again to record "Flutters." Flutters is an all-instrumental acoustic guitar record, released to critical acclaim. With his 2018 release "The Big Heavy," which also gathered critical acclaim for it's lyrics and melody, Dave explored more indie-folk arrangements with deeply layered voices and guitars. And most recently, 2021 allowed for him to release his insanely rocking "I Won't Untie The Knots."

On the film soundtrack side of things, Dave has been active as fuuuuuck. Having done scores with directors Madison Bounds (Crisp Lips, The Mumbler), Alex Rios (Deja Vu), Suzanne Moulton (Nowheres Wolf), Maurice Moore (The Place She Dwells), and Heather Halstead (Fetch). Finally, 2021 also saw the release of another Dave Wirth record, Cinematic Piano Improvisations.

The Still Life, originally recorded in 2012 and refurbished for this release, likely started Dave's fascination with the piano as an instrument. The song is a super chill piano song recorded many years ago and recently refurbished. The Still Life was best described by Dave when he said "It's music to stay put to." We agree. In the video for this song, directed and edited by Dave, you'll see a life in Santa Fe NM that allowed for an extreme stillness.

If there's one thing about Dave Wirth you can expect, it's that you can't expect anything. He's always changing, always morphing, and always moving forward, embracing change and allowing it to affect everything he does.
